If you think that syncing data in iCloud and Outlook is impossible, bet you’ve never heard of SyncMate:)

SyncMate is probably the only tool that can handle this task and will keep contacts, calendars and To Do in sync between your iCloud and Outlook.

Here are several simple steps, following which you will be able to sync data in iCloud with Outlook (and vice versa) using SyncMate.

1. Install SyncMate

First of all you will need to install SyncMate Free edition on your Mac – the latest build can be downloaded from here.

Contacts and calendars can be synced with SyncMate Free edition, To Do /Reminders with Expert edition.

2. Move your data back from iCloud to Mac

If you already store contacts, calendars and To Do in iCloud, you will need to merge this data back from iCloud to your Mac as SyncMate syncs only the data physically located on Mac.

Contacts.

Contacts can be transferred without any problems – just click “Keep contacts” button in iCloud dialog window.

Calendars.

When it comes to calendars, iCloud doesn’t allow transferring them back to Mac. In such case, you will need to sync them using SyncMate.

Just add “Cloud calendars” connection (use “Add connection” button), log into your iCloud account via SyncMate and sync calendars from iCloud to Mac (do not forget to choose this direction in iCal plugin settings).

3. Disable sync with iCloud

Once you are sure all data you had in iCloud were transferred back to Mac, please, disable contacts and calendars sync in iCloud preferences.

4. Enable sync with Outlook

You will need to enable autosync with Outlook in its preferences – this can be done in several clicks.

Once you enable sync with Outlook, contacts and calendars on Mac will be in constant sync with Outlook.

5. Sync iCloud with Outlook via SyncMate

You will need to add “Cloud contacts” or “Cloud calendars” connection in SyncMate wizard (depends on what you want to sync – iCloud contacts or iCloud calendars) and log into your iCloud account via SyncMate interface.

That’s all! When you need to sync data in iCloud with Outlook, just choose these connections and sync – data will be automatically updated between Mac and iCloud and, of course, with Outlook.

The best part of SyncMate is that it allows storing your data in iCloud simultaneosly with keeping these entries on your Mac for futher sync with other devices.

Have any other questions about sync? Ask them here and we will highlight them in future issues of SyncMate Tips if it is something SyncMate can handle.

Enjoy syncing with SyncMate!:)
